Diethelm to open in India
BANGKOK: Diethelm Travel Asia is to enter the India inbound tourism arena with the formation of Diethelm Travel India (DTI).
DTA chief executive John Watson said, “Our customers have long been asking for a Diethelm Travel presence in India and we judge this to be the right time to enter this important and growing market.
“We have been fortunate to partner with G. Premjee Trading Pte Ltd. Like Diethelm, G. Premjee is a substantial and family owned trading business with more than 100 years experience in the region; the synergies between our organisations are remarkable.”
Kirit Shah, chairman, G. Premjee Trading, said, “We have been considering investment in the inbound tourism sector in India for some time and are delighted to partner with Diethelm Travel.
“Our first office will open in Delhi within the next six months. We are now positioning ourselves to benefit from the planned growth over the coming years in the hotel and airline sectors.”
Watson added, “DTI will not be in the mass volume game, but will focus on high-end customers.”
Lilli Saxer has been appointed managing director of DTI and is currently putting together a team in reservations, sales & marketing and quality control.
