Discounts offered to boost online bookings

Saturday, 28 Jun, 2005 0

An online booking service to encourage business passengers to book direct has been opened by Hungarian carrier Malev.

The service will enable smaller businesses and executives to book tickets directly with the airline using a unique login name and password.

The online B2B booking system offers discounts on published fares, specified routes and booking dates as a percentage or fixed amount, benefiting small to medium-sized businesses, according to the airline.

Payment is by credit card and tickets can be picked up from the departure airport or requested by post.

The carrier’s UK country manager Doros Theodorou said: “It is crucial that Malev targets its growing business market and our new B2B online service will be a useful tool for smaller companies who want to operate directly and ensure they are getting a good deal.”

Malev serves Budapest with daily flights from Stansted and double daily from Heathrow.
