Does sex museum help explain population boom?
The China Sex Museum was exiled from Shanghai to Tongli, where it remains a popular and legitimate attraction.
“The China Sex Museum is not pornographic. It’s very legitimate and is something which should appeal to anyone interested in Chinese history, archaeology, sociology or sex," Peter Danford, General Manager of The China Guide travel agency in Beijing, told TravMedia.com.
The tasteful museum delivers “honest to goodness sexual history,” the site says.
Of the 1400 objects in the collection of sculptures, carvings, pottery, paintings and other objects, the oldest dates back 9000 years.
Tongli is located one hour outside Shanghai.
A visit to the China Sex Museum can be combined with a walk through the canals of Tongli, a boat ride and a local lunch.
The China Guide can arrange private no shopping tours to the China Sex Museum as part of a complete China wide itinerary or as a single trip.
