Doug Parker stepping down as American Airlines chairman
Doug Parker is stepping down as American Airlines chairman on April 30.
Parker took over as chairman last year after more than eight years as American’s CEO.
Parker, 61, joined as US Airways CEO when the two airlines merged in 2013.
Robert Isom replaced Parker as CEO in March 2022.
Greg Smith was named as American’s new chairman.
Smith spent over 30 years at Boeing including a decade as chief financial officer.
He left Boeing in 2021 and later joined American as a board member.
