Dozens fall ill in Norovirus outbreak on transpacific cruise
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported 70 norovirus cases on a transpacific cruise from Singapore to Los Angeles.
The month-long sailing is set to dock in California on November 17 with at least 70 people affected by the gastro bug.
The CDC says 55 guests and 15 crew members have fallen ill on Coral Princess.
The ship is carrying 1.822 passengers.
The agency said Norovirus cases were first reported around a week ago.
Princess cruises said it bolstered ‘cleaning and disinfection procedures according to the outbreak response plan.’
The CDC’s Vessel Sanitation Program is monitoring the outbreak remotely.
The CDC has already recorded 11 cruise ship outbreaks in 2024, with all but three classed as Norovirus.
