Dozens sick as norovirus hits another HAL cruise
Another Holland America Line cruise has been hit with a gastrointestinal outbreak.
The US Centers for Disease Control reports at least 88 guests and crew aboard the HAL Eurodam ship have fallen ill, which is now confirmed as norovirus.
This latest outbreak is the eighth so far in 2025 and the fifth on a HAL ship since December.
The ship carrying 2,057 guests and 834 crew, departed south Florida nine days ago on a Caribbean cruise and is expected to dock back at Port Everglades on March 1.
The outbreak was reported about four days into the voyage.
The CDC said the predominant symptoms reported were diarrhea and vomiting.
HAL said it has boosted cleaning in response and has isolated affected guests and crew members.
“We initiated enhanced sanitation protocols to minimize further transmission, including continuous disinfection of the ship,” HAL said.
