Dreamliner flight from London forced to turn back
An Air India 787 flight from London to New Delhi was forced to turn back due to a technical problem onboard the Dreamliner.
The Indian airline said the aircraft’s transponder failed during the flight on Sunday, but that there was no immediate safety concern.
The aircraft was back in operation on Monday after engineers fixed the fault.
It is the latest glitch to hit the Dreamliner, which has suffered a series of problems with overheating batteries and fuel leaks.
On Tuesday, Norwegian Air Shuttle said that a fuel leak on a Dreamliner caused a flight from Bangkok to Oslo to be delayed by 19 hours.
A week ago, Japan Airlines’ maintenance staff reported seeing smoke coming from a grounded Dreamliner at Narita Airport, prompting a further investigation.
