Dubai changes days of the weekend.
From 1 September 2006, Dubai’s official Thursday – Friday weekend has changed to Friday – Saturday in line with a move to be adopted across the United Arab Emirates.
The amendment to the working week will help business relations by increasing shared office hours with Europe and providing a more familiar structure for international visitors.
In the main, the switch won’t effect opening hours for the majority of visitor attractions, shops or restaurants as they tend to differ only on a Friday – the emirate’s official holy day, so the impact on leisure travellers will be minimal.
