Dubai to introduce meta-search travel engine in 2008
Global Travel Market has signed a deal with the Government of Dubai and the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing to develop a meta-search travel engine for the city.
The distribution platform will provide UK consumers with content from a large range of accommodation and flight suppliers as well as online travel agents. Ancillary content such car-hire and insurance will also be available to book in advance as well as tours such as desert and diving trips will also be available to book in advance.
The www.dubaitravelmarket.co.uk service will be introduced early next year and the city is the first in the region to open up a dedicated distribution channel enabling suppliers to access consumers.
According to Ian Scott, director of the UK & Ireland representative office of DTCM the development of the service will mean more people convert to booking the destination online.
