E-brochures the choice for German tourist board
The German National Tourist Board is launching e-brochures on its website in a bid to boost bookings to the country.
The British e-literature company, ebxp, has been appointed to develop e-brochures in 36 languages. They will be downloadable from the German Tourist Board website.
Ebxp managing director, Greg Renk told TravelMole: “E-brochures have come on a long way since the pdf format. There is much more functionality now than when they were pdfs. It is a 3D format with pages that turn so it’s much more like reading a brochure.”
Mr Renk said that it would save the German Tourist Board money on paper, distribution and storage. Ebxp also works with VisitBritain, Tourism Ireland, Jersey Tourism and Norway Tourism.
The tourist board hopes the brochures will be used by agents as a selling tool as well as by consumers researching the destination online.
The German National Tourist Board director of marketing services, Eric Eichberger said: “An international perspective is vital to the success of our new strategy to promote Germany as the best destination in Europe to travel trade partners and to visitors who are currently bypassing or transiting the country.”
