Earth Cultures Launches Inspiring New Holiday Experiences

Monday, 02 Jun, 2010 0

Today Earth Cultures is launching an exciting programme of inspirational holiday experiences that put visitors in direct contact with some of the world’s most intriguing people and cultures.

From the Touareg of Mali and the Bedouin of Petra, to the Seychellois Creole and to the Navajo of South West Colorado, visitors are welcomed by a fascinating diversity of worldwide communities and people who are eager to host them on an exciting journey of cultural discovery.

Visitors spend their holiday with local people to discover their way of life and the destination – through their eyes. They will learn about their daily lives, their beliefs, their heritage and traditions. They will taste their food, listen to their music and share their stories whilst following them on exciting activities through outstanding natural landscapes. In between nights spent with local people in comfortable and traditional surroundings, gazing up at the desert sky or watching the sunset from a mountain plateau, visitors stay at a selection of luxurious hotels.

These holidays are perfect for discerning couples and groups of travellers who are looking for something a little more rewarding and different. They provide an exciting and genuine experience of local cultures and the ultimate family adventure. Earth Cultures has put together a selection of inspirational itineraries on their new website www.earth-cultures.co.uk and all of their holidays are bespoke, planned to give a different view on other cultures.
Founder of Earth Cultures, Richard Worrall commented:

“People are looking for a new adventure that goes beyond the boundaries of the traditional tourist brochure, but often they are not prepared to sacrifice the basic home comforts, something that’s often associated with cultural travel. Earth Cultures is different. We combine cultural understanding and genuine experience with a mixture of traditional and modern accommodation and amenities to give our customers an eclectic mix of real adventure, discovery and relaxation.”

The term ‘culture’ has become fashionable in recent years with the UK taking a renewed interest in cultural understanding – evident from the increase in the number of popular cultural TV programmes such as Joanna Lumley’s Nile and An African Journey with Jonathan Dimbleby.

Tourists are also becoming more discerning and conscious of the impact they have on their host destinations, with ethical and sustainable tourism becoming an important factor in holiday choices. All of the businesses used by Earth Cultures are, where possible, owned by local people who benefit directly from the holidays. Likewise, Earth Cultures makes a donation from all of its holidays to a local or international charity.
