East Midlands Airport notches up more growth
Nottingham East Midlands Airport saw July passenger numbers rise by 15% compared to the same month in 2005.
The airport handled 514,216 passengers last month, up from 447.634 in July 2005, with international scheduled traffic rising by more than 34%.
Palma was the top destination, followed by Dublin, Faro, and Ibiza, while Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast were the top low cost carrier destinations.
Airport managing director Penny Coates said: “This is the fourth month in a row where we have seen consistently strong growth in traffic and this proves that despite the World Cup, Wimbledon and a really hot summer in the East Midlands, people are still looking to travel for both business and leisure.”
