EasyJet flight diverted to eject drunken football fan
An easyJet flight carrying fans of Russian football team CSKA Moscow had to be diverted to eject drunken passengers.
The flight, from Moscow to Manchester, was forced to land at Copenhagen amid reports that one drunken fans had started to push cabin crew.
According to reports, six of his friends were then also taken off the aircraft after complaining about the way he was treated.
The fans were on their way to Manchester for Tuesday’s Champions League match against Manchester City.
An Easyjet spokesman confirmed that flight EZY1872 on Sunday was diverted to Copenhagen due to the "disruptive behaviour" of a passenger on board.
"One passenger was immediately offloaded on arrival. Unfortunately, prior to take off, it was necessary for the captain to take the decision to offload a further six passengers. The aircraft then continued towards Manchester where it landed with a short delay.
“The safety and welfare of its passengers and crew is Easyjet’s highest priority and Easyjet would like to thank the passengers for their understanding and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
