Easyjet in further fleet expansion
Easyjet has announced it will acquire a further 20, Airbus A319 aircraft as part of its planned expansion for the remainder of the decade.
It will take delivery of the aircraft in 2008 and 2009.
The deal follows an agreement reached between Easyjet and Airbus in 2002 which saw the low cost carrier purchase 120 aircraft with the rights to purchase an additional 120. To date, it has received 59 aircraft with a further 61 due for delivery in 2008.
Under the terms of the 2002 deal, the carrier said it will receive “substantial price concessions” on the list price of $900 million for the 20 additional aircraft.
