EasyJet launches major recruitment drive
EasyJet is recruiting for more than 1,200 cabin crew, the largest intake in its 21-year history.
More than half are expected to be based at London Gatwick, an 82% increase on last year.
Earlier this year the airline also announced recruitment of more than 450 new pilots.
The new crew positions are across almost all of its 28 European bases.
EasyJet currently employs over 6,900 cabin crew on 270 aircraft operating on over 880 routes in 31 countries.
Tina Milton, easyJet’s head of cabin service, said: "Being cabin crew is a very rewarding role – our teams are extremely professional and energetic with a real sense of fun. We’re looking forward to welcoming more people into our growing team."
Last week EasyJet announced it has applied for a new air operator certificate in Austria to allow it to continue flying in the European Union after Brexit.
With a new airline, easyJet Europe, headquartered in Vienna, it will be able to operate flights across Europe and domestically within European countries after the UK has left the EU, regardless of what aviation agreement is agreed.
