EasyJet is set for the busiest day in its history this Friday – as it operates over 1,400 flights for the first time.

The airline has 1,406 flights scheduled for Friday 18 April as over 200,000 passengers jet off for their Easter holidays.

The most popular destinations for passengers across Europe departing on 18 April are London, Geneva, Milan and Berlin.

Catherine Lynn, easyJet group commercial director, said: " The combination of Easter and the start of our peak summer flying programme has seen strong demand across the network and we expect to carry over 200,000 passengers on Good Friday. "
