EasyJet reports rise in July traffic
EasyJet passenger numbers grew 9.4% in July to just over 7 million.
Meanwhile, load factor (percentage of available seats sold) grew 1.4 percentage points to 94.3%.
For the 12 months to end of July, passenger numbers grew 6.1% and load factor was up 1.2 percentage points to 91.4%.
The figures were released a day after Ryanair claimed it had become the first airline ever to carry more than 10 million international passengers in a single month after it saw a 11% jump in passenger numbers in July.
Ryanair carried 10.14 million passengers in July, compared with 9.15 million in July 2104.
Its load factor rose from 91% to 95%.
The rise boosted Ryanair’s rolling annual traffic by 15% to 95.3 million.
