EasyJet shares drop again

Travel and tourism shares had a difficult day yesterday as London’s equity markets slumped. Amid renewed fears of ever-higher oil prices, the FTSE 100 index lost some 50.9 points to close at 4564.5, while the broader-based FTSE 250 dropped 45.6 points to end the day at 6241.6. The most significant move of the day was at easyJet, which lost 5p to end the day at 147p. The Guardian states that this was because of profit-taking, following last week’s news of Icelandair building a stake in the no-frills carrier.
