easyJet launches onboard Winter Collection to support UNICEF’s emergency work
EasyJet launched its winter onboard collection to continue supporting UNICEF’s Children’s Emergency Fund, which provides urgent, life-saving aid to children and families affected by conflict and natural disasters around the world.
From December 1, 2025 through January 19, 2026, easyJet cabin crew will collect donations onboard all flights, giving millions of customers traveling across 35 countries the opportunity to contribute in any currency.
Just £3.20 (US$4.25), the price of a cup of tea onboard, could provide 400 water purification tablets, enough to purify more than 400 liters of water in an emergency.
UNICEF’s Children’s Emergency Fund plays a critical role in helping UNICEF respond immediately, ensuring support reaches the most vulnerable children in the countries where the need is greatest.
So far in 2025, funding from the UNICEF Children’s Emergency Fund has enabled emergency response efforts worldwide, including:
In Myanmar, where earthquakes in March left nearly 20 million people—including 6.4 million children—in need of humanitarian assistance. Emergency Fund support allowed UNICEF to airlift 227 tons of supplies, restore access to clean water and sanitation, and set up child-friendly spaces.
In Gaza, Sudan, Haiti, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Yemen, where approximately 1 in 6 children—nearly half a billion—are either living in conflict zones or displaced by violence. The fund provides essential services, including access to education and mental health support.
In Afghanistan, Syria, Bangladesh, and Ethiopia, where UNICEF has delivered healthcare, nutrition aid, and safe water and sanitation resources, including support for Rohingya children living in the world’s largest refugee camp.
That includes 62-year-old Zuhair, his wife, and their six children, who fled Beit Sawa, Syria due to escalating violence. After being displaced multiple times in search of safety, the family eventually returned home—overwhelmed by years of trauma, unstable living conditions, and financial hardship. Zuhair’s wife, Fadia, was diagnosed with depression and has been receiving treatment for over a year. “The medications didn’t help much,” she said. “We both lost our ability to cope.”
In August 2024, a UNICEF-supported mobile team arrived in Beit Sawa, offering mental health and psycho-social support for children, as well as parenting skills workshops for caregivers. “When the instructors emphasized the importance of mothers’ well-being, it hit me that I hadn’t taken care of myself in years. My entire focus was on my children,” Fadia said. “I realized I need to make myself a priority, or I won’t be able to support my family.”
To help families impacted by prolonged conflict, UNICEF provides psycho-social programs that encourage children to express their feelings and process trauma. Parenting workshops are also offered, focusing on caregiver mental health, stress management, positive discipline techniques, and early childhood development. The goal is to support children and caregivers together—helping families build resilience in the toughest of circumstances.
Michael Brown, easyJet Director of Cabin Services, said:
“We’re proud to continue supporting UNICEF’s Children’s Emergency Fund this winter. The scale of global emergencies means millions of children are living in extreme vulnerability, and our funding is essential to sustaining UNICEF’s work. Since 2012, easyJet customers and crew have raised more than £17 million for UNICEF. We are deeply grateful for their compassion, generosity, and ongoing support.”
Dr. Philip Goodwin, CEO of the UK Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF UK), said:
“2025 has been an incredibly difficult year for children. I’ve seen firsthand the devastating impact of conflict, climate change, and economic instability on families worldwide. But I’ve also seen progress. Together, we are making a real difference for children and young people around the world.
“Partnering with long-term supporters like easyJet is vital—it allows UNICEF to deliver more of the life-saving help children and families urgently need.
“We are sincerely grateful to easyJet customers and crew for their consistent support. Every donation collected onboard helps us move closer to a world where all children have the opportunity to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.”
