eLong appoints new CEO
Chinese online travel company eLong, Inc has named Hao Jiang as new chief executive officer with immediate effect.
Jiang replaces Guangfu Cui who will stay with the company in a consultant role.
Jiang was appointed by eLong’s board of directors after an extensive search of candidates and chosen for his extensive experience in Chinese online travel industry, particularly in software and product development, the company said.
Jiang graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
eLong is one of China’s top online travel names but has been underperforming of late and has fallen well behind the likes of Ctrip, which itself made a significant investment in eLong last month.
