Emirates revs up for Formula One
Emirates Airline this week announced a five-year sponsorship of Formula One motor racing in a deal with racing supremo Bernie Ecclestone said to be worth around USD200 million
It is Emirates’ first foray into elite motorsport for seven years and will see the airline’s branding appear at 15 races this season.
Motor racing fans will see Emirates branding for the first time at the Malaysian Grand Prix on March 22-24.
Abu Dhabi and Bahrain have both invested substantially in Formula One with each hosting an annual Grand Prix on a custom-built circuit.
Emirates is also involved in soccer and major horseracing events such as the Melbourne Cup Carnival and the Dubai World Cup.
