Emirates staff get bonus of nine weeks’ pay
Emirates staff in Manchester celebrated when they learned they were to get a bonus equivalent to nine weeks’ pay last week.
The bonus was given to 84,000 staff around the world after the airline’s parent, Emirates Group, made a profit of $ 1.5 billion for the 2014/15 financial year – its second highest ever.
The Emirates Group operates a profit share scheme based on the financial results of the company for the year.
In the UK, Emirates employs over 680 people across its five major UK gateways – Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle, London Heathrow and Gatwick.
Some 400 are based in Manchester at Emirates’ European multilingual Customer Contact Centre.
