Emirates to offer crypto payments
Gulf carrier Emirates is hoping to take flight with crypto savvy travellers.
The airline is exploring cryptocurrency payments for flight tickets.
It is joining forces with Crypto.com.
A memorandum of understanding was signed to integrate Crypto.com Pay into the airline’s payment systems.
It expects an initial rollout later this year.
The MOU was officiated by Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ CCO, and Mohammed Al Hakim, president of Crypto.com UAE.
“This reflects Emirates’ commitment to meeting evolving customer preferences,” said Kazim.
“It’s in line with Dubai’s vision to be at the forefront of financial innovation, while giving our customers more flexibility.”
“This partnership brings real momentum to the digital asset industry,” added Eric Anziani, president and COO of Crypto.com.
The two companies will also conduct joint marketing campaigns to boost awareness of crypto as a payment option.
