End of an era as Bath Travel name disappears after 90 years
South-west agency Bath Travel is to be rebranded Hays Travel by the end of the year.
Hays managing director John Hays has written to Bath Travel’s customers to explain that, although the name that has been well-known in the region for decades is to go, the service and ethos will remain the same.
He described Bath Travel, which was acquired by Hays Travel two years ago, as ‘a fantastic brand, which is profitable in its own right’.
All Bath Travel shop fascias will be replaced with the new Hays Travel fascias by the end of the year and the Bath Travel name will be removed from the dual-branded website this month.
Hays said the move towards the rebrand had been ongoing for the past year, starting with the redesign of the Bath Travel logo to mimic the ‘modern and contemporary’ colours and swirl of the Hays Travel brand.
He added 20 Bath Travel stores have been refurbished, while another 20 will be completed by the end of the year and the final 20 will be refurbished for 2016.
