Enjoy World Cup rugby in the most romantic city in the world

Rugby enthusiasts will be able to experience much more than the exhilarating thrill of being at a Rugby World Cup match in France in 2007.  They now have the opportunity to hop aboard a Gullivers Sport Travel tour and spend non-match days taking in the many attractions France has to offer.

Sports travel package professionals, Gullivers Sport Travel, have joined with Emirates Airline to provide specialised tour packages to the Rugby World Cup. 

Gullivers Sport Travel also acted as the official agent for the Rugby World Cups in 1987, 1991, 1995 and 1999.  In 1999 Gullivers Sport Travel took in excess of 1000 people to the Cup.

Flying Emirates, participants can sign-up for fully-escorted general supporter tours with an itinerary that moves around France visiting some of its unique attractions while attending a number of matches along the way.

Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline, recently increased its frequency to the French capital to a double daily service.  This provides tour participants with a seemless connection between Australia and France.  Participants may also return home from any city on the European Tour that Emirates services, for example Rome or London.  Emirates is also the only carrier out of Australia that has direct flights to Nice.

Each of the four fully-escorted tours offer participants attendance at a selection of matches, while non-match days are taken up visiting the sunny markets of Provence and the seaside towns of St Tropez and Cannes, enjoying fine dining and the famous vineyards of the Loire Valley, and seeing the world heritage-listed site in ancient Lyon.  Tour details are below.

The tours are led by high-profile rugby greats, including Brett Papworth, ex Wallaby; Tony Edwards, former Waratahs team manager; James Grant, ex Wallaby; Bob Dwyer, Coach of the winning Australian Team for the 1991 Rugby World Cup; and Tony Dempsey, former Wallaby and current Chief Executive of the Rugby Union Players Association.

In addition, Gullivers Sport Travel are coordinating Club tours for local clubs Eastern Suburbs, Gordon Rugby Club, Warringah Rugby Club, West Harbour, Eastwood, Manly, Northern Suburbs, The Western Force, Central West and Dural. All club tours are for members and non-members.
