Entrepreneurs launch luxury tour operator
A new luxury tour operator has been launched featuring a selection of five-star European resorts.
JustResorts.co.uk, launched by entrepreneurs Gerry and Vikki Ashton, has more than 50 properties including the Elounda Bay Palace, Vila Vita Parc and the Marbella Club Hotel Golf Resort & Spa.
Gerry was a founding partner and shareholder of Eurocall which was sold to United Utilities in 2004 for £50m, and later invested, with his wife Vikki, in Pavillion – an advertising agency which the couple reinvented as a digital marketing agency before selling it to Hasgrove PLC in 2007 for £10m.
Prior to setting up the operator, the couple operated their own online booking portals for La Manga Club in Spain, Aphrodite Hills Resort in Cyprus and Mar Menor Resort in Spain for the last two years.
Gerry said: "We are working in partnership with a handful of the very best resorts, rather than swamping the market with all properties available in a given destination. In time, we will widen our scope to include luxury resorts worldwide onto the site."
Based in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, the new business creates 15 new jobs from senior management roles to highly experienced Luxury Resorts Specialists.
The JustResorts.co.uk senior team includes Guy Edwards, a former director and joint founder of Ninety East Luxury Holidays, who also held roles in the Uniglobe Northenden Travel Group, Galileo International and Ebookers.com and Anne Carpenter, formerly at Shearings Holidays, BCT, a MyTravel subsidiary and Cresta Holidays.
