Etihad goes with the “Mo” in Movember!
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, is proud to announce its partnership with Movember to raise funds for men’s health issues with a focus on prostate cancer and male depression.
Etihad Airways and Movember are encouraging people to register as an individual or team at www.movember.com to help raise awareness and funds for men’s health.
The top fundraiser for Movember will win two Etihad Airways economy tickets to any destination within the airline’s global network. The winners can choose from 48 destinations including London, New York, Paris, Dublin and Moscow.
Lindsay White, Etihad Airways’ general manager Australia said: “Etihad Airways is proud to be a supporter of this charity initiative which helps tackle serious health issues affecting men across the globe. We encourage Australians to show their support and play an important role in ensuring the success of Movember.â€
Since its inception in 2003, Movember is celebrated in seven countries and has raised over US $30 million globally.
Rob Treharne, Movember marketing and sponsorship manager said: “In 2007 over 96,000 Australians participated in Movember raising more than US $16.2 million. We are hoping that even more people will take part this year and raise funds for our two beneficiaries – Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) and beyondblue: the national depression initiative.â€
Movember Ambassadors, Nathan Wilmot and Malcolm Page, who won gold in the 470 men’s sailing event at the Beijing Olympics, earlier this week attended celebrations to mark the start of Etihad Airway additional Sydney services. The additional flights started on Tuesday 28 October, boosting the number of weekly services from daily to 11 per week.
