Euromonitor reveals the biggest impact on travel trends

Euromonitor International has released its WTM Global Trends Report 2015, with technology having the biggest impact on new travel trends.

The report says that smart technology has increased travel to the UK’s secondary cities with tourists more confident to leave the main urban centres like London.

It has also played a part in the rise of bespoke travel as people enjoy holidays much more tailored to individual requirements as well as increasing tourism to Africa as technology start-ups change the image of the continent.

More Americans are on the move providing a travel opportunity with a growing number of companies allowing longer holidays, while alternative cities in Europe are being put on the map by ‘young and hip’ travellers looking for something new.

The report predicts Iran is the next travel hotspot following the recent sanction lift with many international visitors attracted by its Persian history and World Heritage Sites.
