Europe hits by floods and forest fires
Severe flooding in Switzerland, Austria and southern Germany together with forest fires across Portugal and Spain are creating chaos.
Train services were suspended, roads blocked and villages cut off in central Switzerland due to the rainstorms. At least six people have been reported dead or missing and more than 1,000 people evacuated following three days of torrential rain, the BBC reported.
Alpine resorts are among the areas hit by flooding, with some left isolated.
Meanwhile, wildfires have badly affected central and northern Portugal, with the city of Coimbra threatened by a dozen blazes.
Fire fighters have been tackling fires which have destroyed 45,000 acres of forest in the Spanish region of Galicia this month.
