European Union lifts curbs for US travelers
The European Union has added the US to its ‘white list’ of safe countries, which lifts restrictions on Americans for non-essential travel, but there is no place on the list for the UK.
As well as the US, the EU added Albania, Lebanon, North Macedonia, Serbia, Taiwan, Hong and Macau. The list deems countries safe based on their epidemiological level.
The move allows Americans and others on the list to travel to and within the EU for tourism reasons, howbere the European Commission recommended that a negative Covid-19 test should still be required before travel.
