Eurostar cancels Brussels service
Eurostar has cancelled trains to Brussels from tomorrow evening due to a 24-hour general strike in Belgium beginning at 22:00 hrs.
The train operator has also warned that all other domestic and international connecting services to and from Brussels will be unable to operate from tomorrow evening.
From 22:00 on Wednesday, Eurostar services to and from Brussels will terminate and commence at Lille Europe station in France. A limited replacement coach service will operate between Lille and Brussels Midi stations in both directions in order to accommodate Eurostar travellers affected by the strike, however the operator warned demand is likely to be "extremely high".
Eurostar is recommending that passengers booked to travel on Eurostar services to or from Brussels on December 22 or on the 19:04 departure from London on December 21 exchange their tickets to travel before or after December 22.
The operator has waived exchange fees and those who wish to re-book should contact their original point of sale or call Eurostar on 08432 186 186 in the UK or 02 40 06 731 in Belgium.
Customers who wish to refund their tickets should do so any time within the next two months.
