Eurostar to compensate thousands of passengers
Eurostar has confirmed that all passengers whose journeys were disrupted by more than 60 minutes due to last weekend’s fire in the Channel Tunnel will be compensated.
A spokesman said compensation would be paid to those passengers whose trains were cancelled as well as those whose trains were badly delayed.
Details of Eurostar’s compensation plan are explained on its website.
A spokesman said that, in total, 26 trains were affected on Saturday following a lorry fire in the tunnel, and a further 10 were cancelled on Sunday due to an electrical fault.
Trains are running today but passengers have been told to expect delays.
