Eurotunnel hit by delays
Eurotunnel is facing delays this morning following further incidents involving migrants trying to get through the Channel Tunnel.
The operator would not confirm what was the cause of the delays at Folkestone but it cited ‘an earlier incident on the terminal which is in the process of being resolved’.
Last night a migrant was killed after being hit by a freight train on the site of the Channel tunnel near Calais, firefighters said.
His body was found alongside a train platform in Coquelles, northern France but it was impossible to identify him.
On Wednesday the M20 was closed for seven hours while police investigated the death of a suspected migrant in a collision.
He had been a pedestrian near the slip road of junction 8.
