Ex-airline boss becomes m-d of Reed Travel Exhibitions
Former USAirways international sales, marketing and reservations director Richard Mortimore has become managing director of Reed Travel Exhibitions.
He joins the World Travel Market parent company next month having previously held managerial posts with United Airlines, SAS, Virgin Atlantic and Air Europe.
RTE is responsible for 15 exhibitions worldwide, covering travel, tourism, incentive, meetings and niche sectors such as luxury, golf and city breaks. Mortimore will manage the day-to-day running of the business with from May 1.
RTE chairman Tom Nutley said: “Richard Mortimore’s vast experience, particularly in the airline industry, will bring us new ideas and fresh perspectives on how we continue to build on this success in the future. He has a thorough understanding of technology with a proven track record in bringing together cross-functional teams for highly motivated customer relationships.”
Among his roles, Mortimore was area commercial controller, UK & Ireland at SAS; general manager, Italy and European controller and business manager at United Airlines; route manager in Japan and manager revenue accounting at Virgin Atlantic and scheduled services finance manager at Air Europe.
