Ex-BA manager takes Emirates sales role
Former British Airways executive Glen Mintrim has been named by Emirates as head of sales for UK and Ireland.
He will lead the Dubai-based carrier’s 35-strong sales team supporting its 91 flights a week to Dubai from Heathrow, Gatwick, Birmingham, Glasgow and Manchester.
Mintrim had a variety of senior sales positions at BA for six years, latterly as a manager within global accounts. He previously held management positions at First Choice and Co-op Travelcare.
He will report to Vic Sheppard, Emirates’ UK and Ireland vice-president, who said: “Glen has the right mix of sales and marketing experience in both the corporate and leisure sectors, and will have a key role to play in our ongoing success story in the UK.”
Mintrim said: “It’s a tough industry and the UK market is one of the most competitive in the world. I am looking forward to the challenges ahead, where as a sales team we will continue to build on our success.”
