Ex-Bowen staff land new jobs
The UK Holiday Group has taken on two former employees of Bowen Travel Group, which collapsed last month.
Following Bowen’s failure, The UK Holiday Group agreed to take on the bookings for most of Bowen’s group holidays.
Now it has employed David Lote and Maureen Quinn to work for its dedicated group tours division, Just for Groups.
"Even when they had been made redundant and were owed wages, they carried on, working around the clock to make sure their customers were going to be looked after by someone and their holidays would go ahead as planned," said Harold Burke, sales director at Just for Groups.
"Such dedication is commendable and we are delighted that they have agreed to join us."
Separately, Just for Groups has recruited Adele Walpole, as part of plans to expand its group sales team.
Lote and Quinn have joined as group sales development managers and Walpole as group sales executive.
Lote will be is based at home in Somerset, while Quinn will divide her time between her home in Northampton and the just for groups office in Norwich.
Walpole has joined from Norwich-based Kingswood Learning & Leisure Group, where she had a similar role selling group holidays.
Burke said new appointments will allow the group to generate new business and accelerate plans to work with more travel agents on ‘direct by coach’ departures and private groups.
