Ex-Sabre exec to move to Galileo

Thursday, 30 Oct, 2006 0

Gullivers Travel Associates’ David Brown – formerly with Sabre – is to move to Galileo in the new year.

He is to report to Bryan Conway, who is heading all Galileo operations in Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA). Brown has yet to be given a title at Galileo.

Both Galileo and GTA are both part of travel conglomerate Travelport which is in the process of re-engineering its businesses which will see an unspecified number of job losses (see previous TravelMole story).

Brown, currently vice president sales operations for GTA, previously spent 11 years at Sabre. He will stay at GTA for the remainder of the year while the wholesaler recruits a new sales director and a new operations director for Europe.

Conway said: “He brings a wealth of highly relevant GDS experience, from both a subscriber and supplier customer perspective. This will be invaluable to the development of Galileo’s partnership strategy as we simplify our business and really start to focus on core activities.”
