Expedia taps into growing all-inclusive market
Expedia launched an all-inclusive resource center that includes meals, beverages, entertainment and sometimes even the price of a room.
The move came on the heels of a Harris Interactive survey that found more than two thirds of US travelers feel stressed about vacationing. About one third of travelers feel stressed about exceeding their vacation budget.
“Ninety percent of US adults go over budget once they’re on vacation,” said Kari Swartz, Expedia.com travel expert. “All inclusive resorts are a great option for these people, as gourmet meals and premium beverages are typically included with the room price.”
Entertainment and other activities, including child are, are also included.
Exotic locations and the ability to tailor vacations for families, singles, couples or adventure seekers also topped the list of why travelers are increasingly opting for all-inclusive vacations.
Thirty four percent of US adults in the survey said they would stay at an all-inclusive resort for their next getaway. Major reasons included convenience.
More than one fourth of vacationers said their motive was not to have to worry about overspending on food and drinks.
Expedia’s new resource center allows users to find resorts, view top destinations for all-inclusive vacations and see the different categories of resorts available.
