Wednesday, 17 Dec, 2007 0

Explore Holidays has come up with the perfect short tour solution for Vietnam-bound travellers looking to build on visits to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in 2008.

The new tours include a Halong Bay Cruise and a Mai Chau Valley Lodge extension from Hanoi while Vietnam’s largest island, unspoiled Phu Quoc, is the venue for a three-day/two-night getaway ex-Saigon.

The Halong Bay Cruise program includes an overnight stay on board a traditional junk boat discovering the area’s famous limestone caves and rock formations.

Priced from $211* per person twin share the program features all meals, including a seafood luncheon, on board accommodation  and return transfers to/from Hanoi.

The two-day/one-night Mai Chau Valley program is priced from $244* per person twin share inclusive of breakfast, two lunches, a dinner and return transfers to/from Hanoi.

Featured accommodation for the Mai Chau Valley extension is the deluxe Mai Chau Valley Lodge, modelled on traditional hill tribe architecture.

Optional activities in the valley include nature walks, cycling or visits to the various hill tribes which inhabit the region.

South Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island provides the perfect getaway for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Ho Ch Minh City and see a different side of the country.

Located just a short flight from the southern capital, the island, a firm favourite with the locals,  boasts excellent swimming and SCUBA diving.

Phu Quoc is home to several of the country’s traditional industries including fish sauce and black pepper.

The three-day/two-night program is priced from $246* per person twin share complete with  return economy airfares ex-Ho Chi Minh City, daily breakfast and return airport-hotel transfers.

The three short break programs are featured in Explore Holidays’ new ‘Vietnam 2008’ brochure which also includes Cambodia and Laos.

*Conditions apply. Please note prices do not include international airfares.
