FAA probing power outage that impacted Houston ATC
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a brief power outage at Houston’s Hobby Airport.
The airport authority said the air traffic control tower lost power on Sunday afternoon
Emergency backup generators kicked in but it still caused some delays to inbound flights.
Aircraft were put in a holding pattern causing delays of about 30 minutes.
The FAA said it took about one hour for grid power to be fully restored.
It caused some flight disruption but most airlines were back on track with on-time flights fairly quickly.
The agency says a cause of the outage is still being investigated.
