Fairmont appoints new China VP
Fairmont Hotels has appointed George Wee as regional vice president for China.
Wee is also the general manager of Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai and will continue in this role.
He will oversee operations and business strategy at all Fairmont hotels in China.
George will play an important role in providing leadership to the current Fairmont properties in China," said Foued El Mabrouk, vice president, operations, China, at parent company FRHI Hotels & Resorts.
"His extensive experience with the Chinese market is a huge advantage and I have full confidence that he will contribute immensely to the success of Fairmont in the region."
Wee joined Fairmont in 2013 after many years in senior hospitality management positions with Shangri-La, InterContinental and Sheraton in throughout Asia and Australia.
