Farelogix offers cheaper version of merchandising tool
Farelogix has launched a cut-price version of its FLX Merchandise airline booking tool.
The cloud-based alternative called FLX Merchandise-Xpress, offers most of the same functions of the fully-featured package and extends its market to include smaller airlines, according to Jim Davidson, CEO of Farelogix.
The system allows an airline to set up a catalog for selling upgrade seats, lounge access, Wi-Fi packages, meals and priority boarding.
FLX Merchandise-Xpress has cross-platform functionality for mobile, GDS, retail kiosks and post-booking, but will not offer dynamic pricing capabilities.
Davidson said the pared-down version provides an affordable way to launch new products quickly with minimal risk and for larger airlines to test drive the system before upgrading to the full version, which costs several million dollars a year.
Airlines adopting FLX Merchandise-Xpress will pay a one-time upfront fee and monthly costs with a minimum six-month commitment required.
