FCO warns of imminent Saudi terror
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has issued new advice to travellers to Saudi Arabia, warning that terrorists are planning an imminent attack in the country. The advice follows the cancellation of a British Airways flight to the capital Riyadh yesterday, and existing advice that travellers should avoid all non-essential visits to Saudi Arabia. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office website, at www.fco.gov.uk/travel, warns: “We believe that terrorists remain determined to carry out further attacks in Saudi Arabia, and that these may be in the final stages of preparation.” There were two major terror attacks in Saudi Arabia last year – one in May and one in November – killing a total of nearly 50 people.
