Federal government sets space travel rules
If you want to be a space traveler, you’ll have to play by the rules.
Government rules, that is.
The Federal Aviation Administration issued 123 pages of guidelines that include warning passengers of risks and setting up medical standards for participants.
Passengers will also have to be trained on how to respond to emergencies and to safely leave their space vehicles.
These rules are the first for space tourism, which the Associated Press says is “slowly getting off the ground.”
Five years ago, a California businessman became the world’s first space tourist when he rode a Russian Soyuz capsule to the international space station.
