Feefo sponsors BTAs for third year
The countdown to the 2015 British Travel Awards has started with all the registrations in and consumer voting due to start on 6 July.
Before consumer voting begins in earnest, BTA media sponsor TravelMole has taken the chance to talk to one of the sponsors, Feefo, the consumer ratings and review platforms company.
This is the company’s third year of sponsorship.
"When Feefo first entered the travel industry we knew there were a few pillar events and organisations that were key, of which the BTA’s was one, so we were keen to be involved," said Feefo’s CEO Andrew Mabbutt.
"Travel is a massively important vertical for us and we want to be involved with and support the industry in general. Added to this it is always good to keep our name at the forefront of travel."
Feefo helps companies understand their businesses better, improving their SEO and Google stars, offering support and identifying issues and solutions.
"It is crucial for us to remain well connected in travel to understand changing trends, so that we can meet the evolving needs of the industry," said Mabbutt.
He said Feefo is utilising ibeacons to provide in-experience consumer touch points and feedback triggers that will ‘resonate across the travel sector keen to tap a ‘captive’ audience, to give feedback instantly whilst in resort or onboard a plane’.
"Passengers can rate their individual performance, comment on staff service and the travel experience in real time. This gives travel companies instant actionable information that will greatly enhance their offering."
Three years ago the Feefo team was relatively unknown to the travel industry crowd, but Mabbutt said the BTAs has significantly helped get its name known.
"The travel industry is a fabulous sector, hugely sociable, interesting and diverse! We have certainly made some important contacts through the BTAs, and the events that they run facilitate great networking and an opportunity to learn more about the industry in general.
"Since our initial sponsorship deal we’ve taken off with speed in the travel industry."
