Ferries cancelled due to bad weather
Ferry services are being disrupted as more bad weather is set to hit the UK.
P&O Ferries has cancelled services to Larne and Cairnryan until further notice.
It said if sailings resume early afternoon there will be a backlog of traffic to be accommodated, which will have a knock-on effect to customers booked sailing times.
Services between Dover and Calais are running as normal.
Brittany Ferries has cancelled services between Plymouth and Roscoff and between Portsmouth and Santander.
There have also been delays on the Poole to Cherbourg service.
Meanwhile, Brittany Ferries’ Portsmouth to Caen service is being diverted to Cherbourg on Monday (January 6) due to routine maintenance of the ramp in the port of Ouistreham at Caen.
The UK government held a special meeting yesterday in preparation for a fresh wave of "exceptional weather".
The environment secretary has warned of widespread flooding and emergency services and power companies are on high alert (see separate story).
