Figures show rebound in the travel job market
Recruitment firm C&M is reporting a rebound in the travel job market following a period of caution and inactivity.
According to its latest figures, the number of new vacancies placed with the company in the first six months of the year increased by 3% compared to 2012 and by nearly 13% compared to the same period in 2010.
It said the annual increase is even more impressive considering the 0.83% fall in new vacancies seen in the first half of 2012 compared to the first six months of 2011.
"While it is still too early to say for sure, it definitely appears that companies are becoming more optimistic about their short-term prospects and are increasingly confident about creating new jobs," said Barbara Kolosinska, sales director at C&M Recruitment Consultancy.
"Of course, things can change quickly in the jobs market, but we are hopeful (and quietly confident) that the remainder of the year will be as positive as the first six months have been."
