Fiji Airways to surpass 1 million international passenger milestone
Fiji Airways says it will reach the milestone of carrying one million international passengers in a calendar for the first time in its 63-year history.
To commemorate the achievement the airline will present one lucky passenger on a Fiji Airways flight from Nadi a special souvenir and a free round-trip ticket to the destination of their choice.
"We’re delighted to hit the one-millionth passenger mark for the first time ever for Fiji Airways’ international flights. It’s a great reflection of the hard work done by our team to increase passenger numbers and revenue," said Fiji Airways CEO Stefan Pichler.
"Next year will be even better, as we will offer nearly 1.4 million seats on Fiji Airways; so, at our current load factor of around 85%, we will be able to accommodate around 1.3 million guests on our flights to and from Fiji," he added.
This comes as the airline announces an extra weekly service to Christchurch.
The Tuesday flight will begin June 23, 2015 in addition to the current Saturday weekly flight.
"The additional service will be a real benefit to South Island travellers planning to rest and relax in Fiji, as well as those using Nadi as a transit point to Los Angeles and other North American cities," Pichler said.
