Finding ship shape meetings
Landry & Kling unveiled a new tool for determining whether cruise meetings are effective and feasible.
The simple online quiz, called the “Ship Shape Quiz†is a brief list of company-specific questions that can be completed in 30 seconds, instantly displaying the “feasibility score†of moving an incentive trip or corporate event to a cruise venue, according to the South Florida-based travel services firm.
“The company helped define and establish cruise-based incentive programs, and has been inventing new ways to stage all kinds of events at sea ever since,†according to founders Joyce Landry and Jo Kling.
A recent survey revealed that while nearly three quarters of meeting planners intended to use a cruise for a future incentive program, only a small percentage (7%) have actually done so.
“Landry & Kling believes that the most likely source of this hesitation comes from uncertainty about translating a traditional corporate event to a cruise environment,†says a news release.
Questions that come up involve adequate meeting facilities and other issues.
