First Aloft opens in Montreal

The first ultra high-tech Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ Aloft Hotel opened in Montreal but it will soon have company.

Aloft plans properties to open soon at Chicago O’Hare, in Minneapolis, Lexington (Massachusetts), at the Philadelphia Airport and in Brooklyn.

The 136-room aloft Montreal Airport has an abundance of technology touches, “atmospheric” public spaces and other appealing guest amenities, according to the hotel chain.

“Starwood is marketing aloft as a lifestyle brand fit for today’s traveler with urban-influenced design and accessible technology. Guest rooms feature loft-like nine-foot ceilings and oversized windows,” the company says.

The aloft Montreal Airport is located at the entrance to the Trudeau International Airport and accessible to many local Montreal attractions and attractions. It is 20 minutes from downtown).

Aloft plans to open about 70 hotels by the end of 2009.
